More Than a Feeling

The Holy Spirit is not merely a gentle presence or an emotional moment. His power is tangible. It can be sensed, transferred, and felt. When He moves, things change. Bodies are healed, minds are renewed, boldness is imparted, and atmospheres shift.

His power is not reserved for special people or select moments. It is part of the Spirit-filled life promised to every believer.

Acts 1:8 (KJV)

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me…”

The word for power here is dunamis—miraculous, explosive ability. The coming of the Holy Spirit does not simply result in knowledge or internal change. It brings visible, external evidence of God’s supernatural strength.

The Spirit’s Power Brings Results

Wherever the Holy Spirit is present, transformation follows. The power of the Spirit is not abstract. It produces real outcomes:

  • Healing of the sick (Acts 3:6–8)
  • Deliverance from demonic oppression (Luke 4:36)
  • Miraculous signs and wonders (Acts 5:12)
  • Prophecy and supernatural insight (1 Corinthians 12:8–10)
  • Conviction and repentance (John 16:8)
  • Boldness in preaching and witness (Acts 4:31)

This is not reserved for history books. The Spirit has not changed. His power is available and necessary for the Church today.

Tangible and Transferable

The anointing of the Holy Spirit can be sensed. It is real. Many believers have testified to sensing the weight, heat, trembling, or overwhelming peace that accompanies the Spirit’s touch.

We also see throughout scripture that the Spirit’s power can be transferred through touch, prayer, and even physical objects.

Acts 19:11–12 (KJV)

“And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them…”

The Holy Spirit is not limited by distance. His power moves through yielded vessels.

The Role of Faith and Yielding

While the Spirit is sovereign, His power is most clearly manifested where there is expectation and surrender. The environment of faith creates a landing strip for power.

Luke 5:17 (KJV)

“…and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.”

Jesus was always full of the Spirit, but in certain places His power was tangibly manifested because of the hunger and faith of the people.

We are not waiting for God to move. He is waiting for yielded people through whom He can move.

Transformation Is the Goal

The power of the Spirit is not entertainment. It is not for show. It is given to glorify Jesus and advance His Kingdom. Every true demonstration of the Spirit should result in transformation.

  • Sin is broken.
  • Bondages are destroyed.
  • Souls are saved.
  • Saints are emboldened.

The Spirit’s power is not about our ego—it is about God’s glory.

2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV)

“…we are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

The same Spirit who convicts and heals also conforms us into the image of Christ.

Why This Matters for Ministry

Ministry without power is mere philosophy. The Kingdom of God is not in word only but in power (1 Corinthians 4:20). Leaders who are filled with the Spirit are called to walk in and release His power—not just ideas, but impact.

We are called to be conduits of supernatural life. We don’t carry theory. We carry a Person. And where He flows, there is power.

Activation and Reflection

Ask yourself:

  • Am I walking in the tangible power of the Holy Spirit?
  • Have I settled for information when God wants demonstration?
  • Am I creating space for the Spirit’s power to flow through me in ministry?
