Lesson 1: The Ministry of the Spirit

Welcome to Lesson 1 of our KBN Pneumatology course, a deep, Spirit-filled study on the Person, presence, and power of the Holy Spirit.
This is not just a theology class. It’s an invitation to encounter God personally, be transformed by His presence, and operate in the supernatural flow of divine life.
The Holy Spirit is not a passive presence. He is not merely a feeling. He is not a wind that moves around us. He is a Person. He is God. He is the minister of the Church Age.
Jesus and the Spirit
Jesus was led and empowered by the Holy Spirit throughout His earthly ministry. Now that He is seated at the right hand of the Father, the Holy Spirit continues His ministry through the Church.
This is the dispensation of the Holy Ghost—and He is not silent.

John 16:13–14 (KJV)
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth… He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
The Spirit’s Role Today
The Holy Spirit is the living minister of this age. He reveals Jesus to the believer. He empowers the Church to operate in the will and works of God. Without the Holy Spirit, the Church becomes a machine, not a living Body.
The Spirit Fills Us with God Himself
When we speak of the Spirit filling someone, we are speaking of the living God dwelling inside them—not a feeling, but the essence of God Himself.
Acts 1:8 (KJV)
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me…”
“Power” here means dunamis—miraculous ability. The Spirit supplies what the Church cannot manufacture. The Spirit is to be experienced, not just studied.
When He comes, there is power, joy, purity, supernatural boldness, and manifestations of God’s glory.
The Spirit Transforms Us
Romans 8:11 (KJV)
“…he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
The Holy Spirit doesn’t just assist — He transforms. He fills us until we become a living demonstration of Jesus.
Galatians 2:20 — “Christ liveth in me.”
This is not performance. This is possession by God.
The New Covenant miracle is this: God lives in man.
The Spirit Empowers Ministry
Luke 4:18 (KJV)
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me…”
That same Spirit now anoints you. You minister by the anointing—not your own wisdom or strength.
The Holy Spirit ministers through preaching, teaching, healing, and deliverance.
This is Kingdom reality — not the exception, but the standard.
The Spirit-Born Life
Christianity is more than belief. It is a Spirit-born relationship. The Spirit produces supernatural fruit and gifts. We don’t just speak words — we minister the Spirit.
Activation and Reflection
Ask yourself:
- Am I allowing the Holy Spirit to take full possession of my life and ministry?
- Am I leading from the Spirit — or from the soul and intellect?
- Have I invited the Holy Spirit to make me a vessel of tangible anointing?
